A sofa, a guest bed, and somewhere to keep the bedding. The Harper does three jobs. It's a modular sofa, it converts to a guest bed on a proper pocket-sprung mattress rather than a thin fold-out, and it has hidden internal storage under the seat — so the duvet and pillows live inside the sofa, not in a cupboard down the hall. Its cushions are a fibre-ball, feather and chopped-foam mix for a soft, relaxed seat, with loose back cushions and a choice of two armrest styles. Build it straight or as an L-shape, facing left or right, on black metal legs. Fabric, made to order, with a matching footstool to finish it.

Why the Villa Harper Justifies the Price

Most sofa beds compromise somewhere — a thin mattress, no storage, or a sofa that looks like a sofa bed. The Harper avoids all three. The bed folds out onto a pocket-sprung mattress, not a foam pad, so an overnight guest gets a proper night's sleep. The Harper Custom Sofa - FAQs

Does the Villa Harper convert to a bed?

Yes — it's available with or without the bed option. On the bed version, the seat folds out into a guest bed on a pocket-sprung mattress. Choose the plain sofa if you don't need the bed, or the sofa bed if you do.

Does the Harper have storage?

Yes. The Harper has internal storage under the seat — room to keep bedding, so the duvet and pillows for the bed can live inside the sofa rather than in a separate cupboard. It's one of the main reasons to choose the Harper over a plain sofa bed.

Is the mattress comfortable for regular use?

The bed option uses a pocket-sprung mattress rather than a thin foam fold-out, so it's a more supportive sleep surface than most sofa beds. For occasional guest use it's well suited; for nightly sleeping, as with any sofa bed, we'd talk you through whether it's the right choice. 

Is the Harper a good everyday sofa too?

Yes. It's a full modular sofa first — a fibre-ball, feather and chopped-foam cushion mix, loose back cushions, a choice of armrests, and straight or L-shaped builds. The bed and storage are built in without giving up the sofa.

What sizes does it come in?

As a 2 Seater, 3 Seater, or Set 1, Set 2 or Set 3. It's modular, so corner, open end and chaise longue modules can extend it into L-shape and corner builds. 

Can I have the L-shape facing left or right?

Yes. Every module mirrors left to right, so L-shape, corner and chaise configurations can face either direction.

What armrest styles are available?

Two — a slim profile and a wider one — so you can set the look from pared-back to more substantial.

What are the cushions filled with?

A fibre-ball, feather and chopped-foam mix, which gives a soft, relaxed seat. The back cushions are loose. Feather- and fibre-mix cushions benefit from regular plumping to keep their shape.

What fabric options are available?

The Harper comes in five fabric grades (Grade 1 through Grade 5). Please note the grade you choose and confirm the fabric name with us at time of your order. Samples are available. Feel free to visit our showroom or contact us. 

What legs does it have?

Black metal legs.

Are the sides of the sofa covered?

The sides of each seat module can be covered in fabric for an additional charge — worth specifying if the Harper will sit away from a wall.

Are the measurements exact?

The Harper is handmade using soft materials, so measurements can vary slightly on any module. Allow for this when planning a tight space.

Is the Villa Harper certified?

Yes. The Villa collection carries FSC certification — the wood is sourced from responsibly managed forests and traceable through the entire production process. Upholstery fabrics are Oeko-Tex® certified, containing no allergy-promoting or harmful chemicals and produced under safe social and environmental conditions.

How long does the Harper take to arrive?

The Harper is available in pre-order. It takes approximately 8 weeks from production to delivery.

• Your room measurements — height, width and depth, plus room to open the bed if you're choosing that option
• Photos or a scan of the room — so we can see what we're working with
• An idea of how the room gets used — including how often you'd use the bed
• Anything you're matching to — paint samples, flooring samples, existing wood or fabric
• Your inspiration — Pinterest boards, saved images, anything that shows the look you're after
