The River is the softer side of the Villa range. Its cushions are a mix of fibre balls, feather and chopped foam — a relaxed, yielding seat rather than a firm one — and the covers lift off for cleaning. It's a loose-cushion, loose-fit sofa built to be used, not guarded. Around that comfort sits a low frame with a clean line, six leg finishes including brass, and the choice to build it straight, as an L-shape or with a corner, facing left or right. Seat modules run from a compact single seat to a generous three-seater XL. Fabric or leather, made to order, with matching footstools and a multicolour option to make it yours.

Villa River Sofa - FAQs

What makes the Villa River different from the other Villa sofas?

The River is the soft, loose-cushion one with removable covers. Its cushions are a fibre-ball, feather and chopped-foam mix, giving a more relaxed, yielding seat than the firmer Nori. Unlike the deep, fixed-cushion Nova, the River's covers come off for cleaning. If you want soft seating you can also keep clean, the River is the Villa sofa built for it.

What are the cushions filled with?

A mix of fibre balls, feather and chopped foam. This gives a soft, relaxed seat that benefits from regular plumping to keep its shape — part of the character of a feather-mix cushion, not a fault.

Are the covers removable?
Yes. The River has loose cushions with removable covers, so covers can be taken off rather than cleaned in place. Care requirements vary by fabric grade — ask us before ordering if washability is a priority.

What sizes does the River come in?

Seat modules run from a compact single seat through to a 3 seater XL, plus corner, open corner and three chaise longue sizes for L-shape and corner builds. Check our pictures attached in the product page for more details. 

Can I have the L-shape or corner facing left or right?

Yes. Every module mirrors left to right, so L-shape, corner and chaise configurations can face either direction.

What leg finishes are available?

Several, including brass, black metal, black coloured lacquer, oiled and white oiled wood. 

Fabric or leather?

Both. Please note that leather versions may require more stitching than fabric, so the seam pattern can differ slightly. Pay attention to the fabric grade you choose and confirm the fabric name with us at purchase.

Can I have the sofa in more than one colour?

Yes. A multicolour option lets you combine different fabrics across the sofa. 

Are the sides covered?

The sides of each seat module can be covered in fabric for an additional charge — worth specifying if the River will sit away from a wall.

Are footstools available?

Yes, in two sizes, to order. Contact us for options and pricing.

Are the measurements exact?

The River is handmade using soft materials, so measurements can vary slightly on any module. Allow for this when planning a tight space.

Is the Villa River certified?

Yes. The Villa collection carries FSC certification — the wood is sourced from responsibly managed forests and traceable through the entire production process. Upholstery fabrics are Oeko-Tex® certified, containing no allergy-promoting or harmful chemicals and produced under safe social and environmental conditions.

How long does the Villa River take to arrive?
