The Bok Rectangular Extendable Table — Extends from 120cm to 300cm

- The table that grows with the occasion. The Bok dining table is already one of Ethnicraft's most recognised designs. The extendable version takes that same airy, sculptural profile — curved arched legs, solid oak construction, the signature form designed by Alain van Havre — and adds a practical extending leaf that expands the table without changing what makes it distinctive. A table that seats a quiet family dinner on a Tuesday and a full gathering on a Sunday, without compromise on either. Available in 4 stains and five sizes, extending from 120cm up to 300cm.

Lead time: 4–6 weeks.

Ethnicraft Bok Rectangular Extendable Dining Table — FAQs

What finishes is the Ethnicraft Bok rectangular extendable dining table available in?

The Bok rectangular extendable dining table is available in five finishes across two wood types.

Solid oak — sourced and processed in Serbia:

  • Oiled oak — natural: hardwax oil finish or varnished, natural oak colour
  • Varnished oak — black: varnish finish, black colour
  • Varnished oak — brown: varnish finish, brown stained colour
  • Teak natural  — Unfinished

Solid teak — sourced from Indonesia, SVLK certified:

  • Natural teak — unfinished: no finish or protective treatment applied

What is the difference between the oak and teak versions of the Bok rectangular extendable dining table?

The oak versions are built from solid oak sourced from Serbia and are available in four stains — oiled natural, varnished black, varnished brown. The teak version is built from solid teak sourced from Indonesia, SVLK certified, and comes completely unfinished — no finish or protective treatment applied — allowing the natural teak character to develop over time.

What sizes does the Ethnicraft Bok rectangular extendable dining table come in?

The Bok rectangular extendable dining table is available in five base sizes — 120cm, 140cm, 160cm, 180cm and 200cm. Each size extends significantly:

  • 120cm extends to 180cm
  • 140cm extends to 220cm
  • 160cm extends to 240cm
  • 180cm extends to 280cm
  • 200cm extends to 300cm

All sizes share a consistent height of 76cm and depth of 90cm or 100cm depending on size. Please contact us to confirm current size availability and lead times before ordering.

What is the difference between the Bok rectangular extendable dining table and the Bok round extending dining table?

The rectangular version has a standard rectangular top in five base sizes from 120cm to 200cm — extending up to 300cm in length. The rectangular version is better suited to longer, narrower dining spaces; the round version works well in square rooms or where a softer shape is preferred.

How does the extension mechanism work?

The Bok rectangular extendable dining table features an integrated extending leaf with wheels on the legs for easy movement — pull the two table halves apart and the leaf rises and unfolds to fill the gap. The extension panel is 80cm wide. The mechanism integrates cleanly into the Bok design without visible joins or additional fittings. Please contact us for specific guidance on the extension mechanism before ordering.

How many people does the Ethnicraft Bok rectangular extendable dining table seat?

Seating capacity depends on the size and version chosen. The teak version at 140cm base seats up to 6 people and extends to seat up to 8 at 220cm. Maximum guests capacity is 12.

Is the Ethnicraft Bok rectangular extendable dining table solid wood?

Yes. All versions of the Bok rectangular extendable dining table are built from solid wood — solid oak for the oak versions and solid teak for the teak version. Oak is sourced and processed in Serbia. Teak is sourced from Indonesia and carries SVLK certification. Please contact us to confirm specific construction details before ordering.

Does the natural teak version require any treatment?

No. The natural teak version comes without any finish or protective treatment applied. Teak is naturally oil-rich and requires no treatment to maintain its integrity. Over time natural teak develops a silver-grey patina if left untreated. For guidance on maintaining natural teak visit our Ethnicraft natural teak care guide.

Is the teak version sustainably sourced?

Yes. The teak used in the Bok rectangular extendable dining table is sourced from Indonesia and carries SVLK certification — the Indonesian Timber Legality Assurance System — confirming the timber has been legally and responsibly harvested.

Does the Bok rectangular extendable dining table pair with other Bok collection pieces?

Yes. The Bok rectangular extendable dining table is designed as part of the same collection as the Bok dining chair, Bok dining chair cushioned, Bok bench, Bok bar stool and Bok counter stool. The curved arched legs and solid wood construction are consistent across all pieces whether you mix finishes or build a full set.

What is the lead time for the Ethnicraft Bok rectangular extendable dining table?

The Bok rectangular extendable dining table carries a 4–6 week lead time. Please contact us to confirm current availability and expected delivery window before ordering.

Can I see the Ethnicraft Bok rectangular extendable dining table in person in Ireland?

Yes. The Bok rectangular extendable dining table is available to view in our Cork showroom. Wood and finish samples are also available in store so you can see and feel all five finishes before ordering. We also offer free video consultations if you are based outside Cork.

Is the Ethnicraft Bok rectangular extendable dining table suitable for everyday family use?

Yes. Solid oak and solid teak are among the most durable dining table timbers available. The oiled oak — natural finish benefits from occasional re-oiling. The varnished finishes require only routine wiping with a damp soft cloth. The natural teak version requires no treatment. Use placemats and coasters to protect against heat and moisture in daily use.
